Need Some Advice?

Want to raise your children multilingually and multiculturally but aren't sure where to start? Here is the place to get the ball rolling...

Where to Begin?

Raising your children bilingually and biculturally should be something that ultimately brings you satisfaction and joy. This doesn't mean you won't hit many bumps in the road and at times feel like you are the only person in the world speaking your language. Your children may tell you they hate your language and culture and that they are embarassed because you speak another language.

You may also get rude comments from others when in public along the lines of, "Why don't you learn our language!?" To combat these times, you need to build up an arsenal of inner strength and commitment backed by research, support and knowing that what you are doing is really, truly the best for you, your family and ultimately the world!

Getting Started

Start by answering some initial questions. Read our short article "Ask Yourself: Why, What, Who, When, Where?" to start things off on the right foot.

Golden Rules
