Whether you speak more than one language at home, are a mixed race family, have adopted children from another country, or a combination of all, you will face communication challenges with your extended family members.

As blended culture couples, we have to first create identities for ourselves and then nurture identity for our children and ourselves as a family. At the same time, we are working to maintain sound relationships with our extended family members who may not understand or approve of our perspective.
